    F buttons BIOS error, Function buttons switched problem

    my bios read fine and it has the action mode enable but it still requires me to use the fn+ first. i dont remember what i did to cause this problem. regardless of what i do in the bios (set to default, or enable action mode buttons) it still requires me to press fn to use the action. i want to use the brightness, keyboard light, etc keys with one button not two. let me know if im not clear with my explanation.

    I had this problem after messing around with the darwin bootloader trying to Hackinosh my envy.

    I ended up fixing it after one of these things (I don't remember which, but I tried all of these):

    a. Flashing BIOS
    b. Selecting "Restore default settings"
    c. Toggling the setting multiple times

    yeah i called hp support instead, we ended up just doing system restore and also powering on the laptop without any power or battery and its working now
