The F.17 BIOS hasn't been officially released in te dv5000t's downloads page, but I've heard of people having a BIOS of that revision in their 5000t's that were shipped recently. So...the F.17 BIOS flash from the dv6000t downloads page should provide it fine, shouldn't it? The reason I am asking is, isn't it the F.17 BIOS that gives Merom support?

Any light someone could shed would be great. Thanks in advance.

ABSOLUTELY never updata bios~~ you must to ask hp if the bios system
broken what they will do for you! if they want you buy a new motherboard..
that IS Possible, so dont updata it!! but if they say if you broken the bios
we will replace the motherboard for you or we will fix it for you. ok you can
do that but remember~ that is high danger work~ i was broken the bios. i find the bios from hp website and run it at windows. at about 70 %~ the computer show me a lovely and fantasy blue screen. and i reboot the computer, and then show me the virgin and beauty black screen. iknow that will happen after the bluescreen+reboot..... but i feel luckily~~~~very lukily~ the service replace the motherboard with a new
one and dont need pay~~ i hope every body to sure what happen when
    bios broken after update it
