    Hi everyone,

My F11 key is not working during boot anymore. I think it was because I updated the bios.

I think I can to solve this problem trying 2 things:

    1) Rollback the original version of the bios. But I don't have it and I don't know how to do it. Does anyone knows?

    2) Rewrite MBR. I found other posts where people said that there is a program called MBRInst.exe that can rewrite the MBR along with a MBRInst.ini, but I don't have this file in my Recovery Partition. I also read about other tools but I also don't have them. Can anyone send it to me? Or maybe backup the MBR with another tool and send to me so I can restore it.

My notebook is a HP dv6629us and this is really important to me because I'd like to sell it and I must have it working with all his features.

    Thanks for the help.

the mbrinst files are in the C:/System.sav/util folder
you can do a search in windows to find the file (type in mbrinst)

Thanks. I found it and run using mbr.ini but nothing has changed. F11 still doesn't work.

    What should I did wrong?

do any of the F(number) buttons work besides the F11 (such as F10 for setup)
