After noticing that the f28 BIOS did not get rid of the high pitch whine and was heating up my laptop to 120F+ degrees, I reverted back to f16 (temperatures usually lower than 100F degrees).

Anyone download f29? Does the CPU heat up too much? Excessive fan running? Battery life?

I also had that scroll pad problem, but I thought it was just me. I may be sticking with f16 to keep the temps low.

I'm running f.29 on my 6000t right now. I upgraded to a newer version of speedfan, so my temps may not compare to what I used to have, but the fan behavior in f.29 seems to be exactly the same as in f.28. It starts and stops a lot, and the fan seems to be tied more to processor load than actual temperature.

Basically, it's quieter, but hotter: according to speedfan 4.33, my two cores hover at around 35 C with f.29, while "Temp1" (the motherboard?) is at 50, and my HD is up to a toasty 55 C. This is after idling an hour, then doing some simple web browsing. I might game later tonight and see what it does, but if the HD stays this hot, I'll have to go back to f.16.

Just another data point here. I sent in my F.16 laptop to HP for a hinge repair and it came back with an updated F.29 BIOS. Definitely quieter, definitely hotter. Hard drive was frequently breaking the 58 degree Celsius danger zone. Downgraded back to F.16.
