Hi guys. My sister in law recently purchased a Compaq F572US. We've been trying to make the internal/built in mic to work to no avail. All the drivers have been updated and yet there is no mic to be found. I'm thinking there is really no internal/built in mic on the machine. Appreciate if F572US owners can shed light on this query.
Thanks in advance.

I have this laptop - I want to make sure we have the same idea of what you mean by "internal mic." There is not an internal mic that I'm aware of if you mean like the mics on some other HP/Compaq laptops that simply can pick up ambient sounds and record them to the hard drive. There is a port on the front of the case, though, that you can plug in a microphone and then record the audio from that port. It works fine for me as a way to record into Audacity. Are you having problems when plugged into that port on the front or were you looking for a microphone built into the case that could passively record audio?

I was actually looking for a built in mic - one that's built into the case similar to what my HP dv9207us has.
She can use the mic port up front without any problems. But we were kinda hoping that there is a built in mic in the machine.
F572US - No internal mic?
