    You could purchase a notebook cooler to cool the underside of your laptop so your fan doesn't have to work as hard and is therefore quieter.

    Certainly a good dusting in the cooling system would help. Use compressed air or better yet, have it taken apart and cleaned more thoroughly. A dust-clogged dv6*** series laptop is soon a dead laptop.

    Try cleaning the laptop from dust, especially the fan entrance and exit by disassembling the laptop (10 min work). You will be amazed by the result.
