I recently purchased a slice battery for my Envy 14. When I attach the slice battery (while using intel graphics) the fan at the back (near the monitor) makes a lot of noise. When the slice battery is removed it does not make any noise.

What troubles me is that the amount of noise it makes when slice battery is attached (while using intel graphics) is the same as the amount of noise it makes while running on ATI graphics with slice battery removed.

Is there a BIOS setting I need to modify? Anyone else who has purchased a slice battery has this issue?

The slice is probably adding resistance to the air intakes. You can't really get around that with settings.

Change the system cooling policy in your power profile under processor power management to passive instead of active.
