    I have a dv2700 with vista.

Quite often the fan will pulse, going high for a second then slowing down again then high then low... This cycle can go on for minutes or hours. It started doing this when it was about 2 months old, so I doubt its dust.

I updated the bios with no effect.

Any ideas how to fix this? It's really annoying.

Can you try monitoring your temps using HWmonitor?
