    Hey everyone,

I bought my HP ZT 3000 about 3 years ago and have always had small problems here and there which was covered by warranty, but my warranty has finally expired.

My computer turns on (all the normal lights turn on) along with the screen and fans, but after about 5 seconds the fans turn off but the computer stays on (screen and lights). What is the explanation for this, and is there any way I can fix this by myself without getting it fixed at a computer store? Thanks!

Well, this may or may not be a problem, depending on how well your laptop deals with heat. Is it getting really hot? Does it automatically shut down? If it does, then really the only thing that you can do is to try cleaning out the fans with some air spray or a powerful vacuum cleaner. You could also try running Speedfan to monitor your temperatures and fans.

After sometime the fans control become online, and it can turn on if needed
