I'm expecting a HPG42 from Fedex, but I've been wondering, why do I just get an expected date?

I've heard other people get a time frame of when their stuff is due to be delivered.

Could be that Fedex recieves the shipping information before they even get the box. When the order is placed the tracking number is activated and the date is the "expected" delivery date, until they actually get the package to the truck/plane/sorting center
