    1. Is the 8400m 64mb worth the $74 over the x3100?
    - I'll be occasionally playing light (older) games such as counter strike and often watch download films (sometimes in 720p res).

    2. Is the 6 cell High Capacity larger in size/weight then the regular 6 cell? How much more power does it give?

    3. Is fingerprint Reader a useful addon? Or is it just for show?

    4. Does express slot remote control come standard with every system?

    5. Is the express slot tv tuner any good? How much battery does in drain? Pros, Cons?

    6. What the hell happened to dv2600 model?

    Thanks in advance,
    Notebook Noobie

first off i have a dv2500 and i love this laptop. its the perfect size and its pretty nice looking.

    1. i purchased the card not sure how much better it is but i watch 720 p hd movie trailers all the time with no problems

2.i looked on the site the high capacity was the only option. it provided 16% more then the standard 6 cell. not sure on the size.

    3. i use it to log onto windows ands keep a long password i also register every website password so when ever i get to a website log on i just swipe my finger.

    4. yes

    6. the dv2600 was the dv2500 special addition you can usually find them at best buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8534188&type=product&id=1186008220258

i didnt know about the tv tuner but i hope this helps some. ive had the laptop for a few months i love it

First of, thank you j-dogg for your reply and BIG thanks to notebookreview.com for the resources found on this remarkable website!

    I’ve ordered the laptop today!!!

After grueling weeks of decisions and deal searching I've finally come to rest. I’ve purchased vostro 1400 and was disappointed by size/looks and then wanted to get xps m1330 but it’s just out of my budget. Eventually, I’ve noticed the 30% off HP coupon and that relieved my long headache.

Rest assured, I think I got an awesome deal.
    You be the judge:

nice price. i love this laptop it looks really great and it seem to be really durable. when you get it, it will definitely be loaded with crapware. i did a clean install of 64 bit ultimate now this thing flies.

Anyone know a good small case/sleeve? Preferably black and leather (and cheap :)).

EDIT: Tryed searching the forums but can't find a thread talking about slim 14.1" cases. Someone please share what you use to carry your 2500.

my dads a computer tech we just did it together. its pretty easy, just pop in the windows disk, change the boot order so it boots from cd, then pretty much just let it do what it needs to do. it will format your drive and wipe everything out for you, just save what you want to save before hand. you should take your SwSetup folder and save it, it contains all the drivers for your laptop hardware. you can always get them from hp's site anyway but its easy to have them handy. when i redid mine the wireless drivers weren't installed, so i had to plug into a wall but once its plugged in vista usually finds all the drivers anyway. before you do anything tho make sure you make the back up disks so you can always go back to original configuration. just ask around in that thread im sure somebody will help you if you get stuck
