    okay so heres one possible build of my laptop... the price comes around $1850.

    * – Upgrade to Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
    * – Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T9400 (2.53 GHz)
    * – 17.0" diagonal WSXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display (1680 x 1050)
    * – 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    * – 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
    * – HP Imprint Finish (Mesh) + Microphone + Webcam for HP BrightView Infinity Display
    * – FREE Upgrade to Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100AGN and Bluetooth(TM)
    * – No High speed 56K modem port
    * – 320GB 7200RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (160GB x 2) with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    * – SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
    * – No TV Tuner w/remote control
    * – 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    * – Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
    * – HP Color Matching Keyboard
    * – HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope

    Now I could save $100.00 by downgrading the Hard drive to 320 gb 5400 RPM. Should i do it?

    The 320GB 5400rpm will be more than enough, save the money if you can.
    I saw your thread, did you read my post?

    Why do you keep posting the same questions in different threads? Now you created a new thread for the same question you just posted in "official DV7t post". I've noticed you do this everytime.

    Isn't there some rule here against that????

    Of course! The CPU and GPU are what you should be looking at if you're concerning about games, but your config is decent already.

    If you have the money, then keep the 320. But I have the 250gb. Still have about 150gb left.

    bottle necking is when the part(s), whether the hdd/cpu/gpu/RAM, is not working as fast as the other components are. just think of a sink with the water running. when something clogs the drain and the water begins to overflowing that is bottle-necking.

    i say get the dual hdd option. when you need a bigger hd you dont have to buy the hdd slot holder (it is overpriced in hp website) if it is still designed like the dv9000 series.

    oh yea cross posting is bad. plus the answers to your question would be all over the place. creates spam which is not good.
