Hi. I finally oredered my notebook. I got a HP Pavilion zd8000, with a 3.0 GHz processor, 80 GB (5200 RPM) hard drive, 256 MB x600 graphics card, DVD with double layer writing, integrated wlan and bluetooth, 17" WSXGA+ BrightView screen and 512 MB of DDR2 400 MHz memory. I opted in the end to save $150 bucks and go for just 512 MB of memory, since I'll also probably be getting other stuff as well, such as an audigy 2 zs notebook card and some speakers. I can always upgrade the memory should the need arise.
I'd like to thank everyone who answered my posts in the last couple of months. I learned a lot from these forums, where I've been coming very often, and in fact it was here that I first learned about the upcoming release of the zd8000 and saw the pics back in October. I also tried to answer a couple of questions some other people had. Maybe from now on I will have more knowledge to give :)
Hopefully everything will go on from here without a snag, my notebook is estimated to ship on December 29th.

    Bill

hey Bill, thanks for the positive feedback, I really hope the zd8000 works out for you, it certainly looks to be a pretty sweet looking machine. So after you've had a chance to play with it certainly let us know your thoughts or think about writing a review...definitely stop back to help others when you can!
