EDIT: **** i need a really small screwdriver to get this laptop open so it looks like it will be awhile before i can get one :[
-
How do you check what kind of screen you have?
Chris -
right click my computer then go to hardware, then go to device manager then go to monitors, then plug and play right click go to details and it gives like the first few letters like SEC, AUO, QDS, etc..
-
OK, so I got the SEC screen, too. What's wrong with that?
Chris -
So which manufac has the best reputation?
-
well its just the dimmest of the screens they use apparantly, the QDS and the AUO are quite noticibly brighter from what many people are saying.
-
really?!? let me check mine this afternoon...
-
That's true, but you can try to calibrate it. It should improve significantly.
-
How do you do that?
Chris -
I got display/CMO
-
I've got QDS... so who manufactures the monitors which say QDS?
I didn't realize they manufacture the dv2000 with different screens. Guess that explains why some people complain about the lack of brightness of the screen. -
i think its Quanta? i not sure but i know all are of them are considered to be substantially brighter than the SEC4242 :[
-
Yeah, QDS is Quanta Display. TBH, I have seen both screens and the Samsun wasnt too bad. Any diffrence in brightness was negligible IMO.
-
Any idea what brand MS_0000 would stand for? This is listed as the brand name of the screen on my l2000.
-
Download powerstrip.
-
I dont think MS stands for any brand name, but rather it is the standard name given to a monitor when it is not properly identifiable. Try Powerstrip as mentioned above and see if that is able to decipher the info. If that is not successful then you will have to physically look at the monitor to find out the manufacturer.
-
mine is AUO
-
Thanks for the suggestion. It seems I'll have to open the laptop to see my screen brand. It's a very good screen for a non-brand one, though.
Finally Here Woohooo
