Well I finally decided on a DV2000T after a couple of weeks deliberating. It's actually going to be my wifes Christmas gift this year, but she let me choose which one and configure it. Well here is what I ordered. It was $1105.99 after the $50 rebate.

FREE Upgrade to Genuine Windows XP Media Center!!
    - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7200 (2.0 GHz)
    - 14.1" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
    - 128MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7200
    - HP Imprint Finish + Microphone + Webcam
    - FREE Upgrade to 1024MB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    - 120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    - DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
    - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth
    - No TV Tuner w/remote control
    - 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    - Microsoft(R) Works/Money

Now just one question. This is out first laptop and have never used wireless internet before. We have roadrunner cable on the desktop with a regular cable modem. How and what do I need to use the laptop wirelessly around the house?

Belkin Wireless-G Router with 4-Port Switch for $39.99

I use this constantly and love it...range is pretty good too. Just plug the RR modem into the router's "in" port (for internet in that is), any desktops to one of the 4 available 10/100 ports, and set up the WiFi network using the instructions and you are good to go.

You'll need a wireless router--take a look at the wireless & networking forum.

Thanks guys. Really looking forward to getting it. Thought it might be more complicated, but looks pretty simple actually.
