So, I'm planning on reinstalling vista, so need to download drivers.
However, the model number which is displayed on the base of my laptop doesn't match the specifications of my laptop.
I have a dv2890nr (according to the base), but the specs on the HP website says it should have a 7100m (I have a 8400m GS) see:
h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01391863&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3686751
So I thought that maybe it could be the very similar named dv2890ca
h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01391866&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3691901
but it doesn't have the HDMI listed in the specs.
Can anyone shed any light as to which is my model?
I deleted the SWsetup folder unfortunately so I can't get them through that method.
Thanks for the help![]()

well since both of the video cards are nvidia cards, they'll have the same drivers. If the other components have the correct drivers, then I would suggest you get all of those drivers and get the drivers for your video card from www.laptopvideo2go.com

I'm not actually looking for the video card drivers. They were just reference points in the 'specs'.
I'm just trying to find my actual model number, as its not dv2890nr as I don't have a 7100m
