So anyway, yesterday my Fingerprint Biometric thing stopped working. It may of been because I accidently cancelled processes or services or whatever. I restarted my computer but that didn't seem to solve the problem. If it is on and working, the little light to the next of it will be on but now it is pitch black. I did manage to find a way to turn it ON, but I'm having issues with it. For example I cannot use it when I am logging in and I cannot seem to enroll new fingerprints when I try to in HP SimplePass. It just says "Error, please try again."

What should I do? It's really driving me paranoid. I thought restarting the computer would solve the problem but I suppose not.

I kind of had a problem that it would not recognize the fingerprint, even after several restarts and reinstallation, the only problem that fixed it was completely turning of the whole computer for a minute and turning it back on. Not sure why a restart did not fix it but you can try that.
