    Hello,

I wiped the harddrive on my dv6515eo notebook this morning with a clean Vista OEM DVD (not the Recovery Discs from HP). Everything works flawlessly except for the AuthenTec AES2501 Fingerprint Sensor.
The driver has been installed and is visible in the device manager, but there is no sign of proper functionality.
The fingerprint logon is gone, I don't get any fingerprint pop-up when logging onto password protected sites, there is no icon in the taskbar and finally, the reader itself doesn't react when a swipe my finger over it.

    Please, help me?

You probably missed installing the software which interfaces with the driver. The AES2051 is just the driver. I dont know what fingerprint reader software shipped with the dv6500 series but it should most likely be either Biocrypt Verisoft or the Digital persona software. Both should be available from HP's website and will provide the GUI an interface with the fingerprint sensor.

Ah, now that you mention it, I believe the software used is "VeriSoft Access Manager". It should be included on the HP Recovery Discs, I presume?

If not I'll just google it. Thank you for your reply! :)
