I am on my second HPenvy, after the first one I purchased had a defective hard drive which died 2 months after purchasing it. This one runs much better, but it is still extremely sensitive ..as evidenced by this being the third time I am typing this message (bc the first 2 times my text just magically deleted itself).

I have already changed the mouse settings to no avail. When I type, sometimes my text just gets deleted. Other times, I must be accidentally hitting shortcuts or something, because my mouse will just stop working, and if I am on the internet, pages reload or new pages open.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem, I would be eternally grateful if you shared your knowledge. Thanks!

This happens to me all the time. eafd is correct about your palm setting your touchpad off, it doesn't really bother me though because I usually am using a mouse with the laptop and turn off the touchpad when doing so.
