Well IE7 is still definetly not as safe IMO.

FireFox with the NoScript addon is very secure.

IE7 still lets some pop'ups and scripts run, while FF doesnt at all.

    It depends on the setup.

FireFox makes it easier with extentions, but you can still set up IE7 via Internet options to make it as safe.

Vista has added layers of security to isolate IE7 from other applications and the kernel. I imagine that those added security layers only work with IE7 and not the competition, so I would say that as of today, IE7 is much more secure than FireFox 2.0 under Vista. We'll see how long this lasts, however...

It's kind of 6 one way, half dozen the other -- at least on Vista. They both have their security benefits and drawbacks. Use whichever you like. I like the way IE7 looks and behaves, so I use that primarily, but I have FireFox set up to access the internet through my cell phone when I need to.

Since IE7 still use activex it's not secured at all, and FF 2.0 is faster when it comes to sites with javascripts on it.
