I'm having a problem connecting my video camera to my HDX. The port itself seems to work as I was able to connect my external hard drive to it and it was found.

It's not the camera as I hooked it up to a different PC's firewire port and it was found. Not the cable either.

    Any advice?

Hi, i have problems too with firewire, as i see the chipset of the firewire is so bad... and it seems that the HDX series have a lot of problems in this device, because the IRQ of this shares other devices.

1 Chipset Firewire Cheapest (Is not Texas Instrument)
    2 IRQ Shares Other Devices

A bad combination, not for multimedia streaming.. video, sound or data.

Check your Latency before and after you plug your camara or HD and post it...
