    Why is this a better battery? HP says it's more sustainable, but isn't that an oxymoron, considering all of us that already have laptops are going to throw our current batteries in the garbage once we get the uber-cool Enviro batteries? Ok, so obviously we're not going to junk the old ones, but you get my point.

    I think it's mostly just the lasting longer thing. Makes the battery much more worth it IMHO. We'll see what people say after they get theirs, though.

    Ah, I read an article about this in the IEEE Spectrum magazine maybe a year or so earlier - been wondering when they would finally be adopted by HP, who was disclosed to be the first customer a while back.

    Yep, me too, ~1year each. But I buy the bare cells and replace 'em myself, they're only $3 each compared to the price of a new pack...

    I have had two dv6000 12 cell batteries for over a year there still going strong
