As soon as you get, make those recovery discs. You never known when the system will fail and it is inaccessible.

You shouldn't worry. It will operate fine right out of the box. All you would need to do is uninstall some of the bloatware programs that no one will ever use.

    Programs such as:

    Norton
    HP web smart
    HP help & support
    HP photosmart
    Microsoft Office

Your computer will run great. It has similar specs to my current one. The processor won't have too much of an affect.

In COD4 you could expect at least 40 frames constant on high.

A wireless or bluetooth mouse is recommended if the DV7T's touchpad is anything like mine and a flashdrive or usb hard drive for backups wouldn't hurt, but you generally don't need accessories.

USB hard drives are a bad idea. IF you do need a backup drive then get an eSATA compatible hard drive. It's about 7 times faster than USB hard drives. The best thing about it is you already have an eSATA port on your DV7.

these eSATA drives are too costly,..i will go with a 8GB Kingston pen drive instead!!

sorry to ask another question in this thread. i am a newb to esata interface but if i see it correctly, in order to use esata, i would have to use another usb port for power? so that would be one esata for data and usb for power?

That's correct. IF it was just USB then you'd only need one port. However, eSATA doesn't provide power and would need USB for it. Using eSATA is really fast. It would be as if you had the hard drive inside of your computer.

I'm very confident you can play C&C3 with everything maxed out. I'm going to go get it soon and run some benchmarks if you're interested to see how it runs.

Yes, buy the Logitech VX Revolution. I got it a few weeks back and it's been nothing short of amazing.

My suggestions for anyone receiving a new laptop would be once you have the laptop past the first setup and actually into the operating system for the first time, do the following:

    1) Make recovery discs
    2) Download all microsoft updates
    3) Go through the program list and unistall any bloatware like ISP offers
    4) Install a full antivirus program (I recommend Kaspersky)
    5) Install any programs you want.
    6) Install CCleaner to help keep the registry and system clean and fresh

There ya go. If you need a more step by step on one of these items, just let us know and we will try to help the best we can.

Yeah. Some enclosures come with an AC Adapter. However, the one I sent you does not come with one.
