    Fix for the popping/cracking sound/noise during music playback on HDX16 HDX18

    After messing with some parameteres I finally figured what's the problem.

    Under Windows 7 (probabbly Vista too) click on the mixer and then on the playing device (be it onboard speakers or headphone jacks) and go to advanced tab.

    In the quality drop-down menu, select 16 bit 44100hz CD quality and then disable the two boxes below so any application won't override this setting.

    Do this for both speakers and headphones, apart from the well known power management turning off procedure in the idt control panel.

    I just wonder whether or not this setting will compromise high quality audio on dvd...

    This should be fixed, at least for me.
