I have a new DV6458 notebook with Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-N wifi. I seem to be unable to hold a stable connection with my internet, wired or wireless. It just starts off fast then drops down.... sometimes even as low as 60kbps. I'm running on a 6mbps connection, now my question is... (before I go call/curse out my cable company lol) is there anything else that could POSSIBLY be causing this. I could understand if it was just low when wireless but c'mon even with it plugs directly into the system? Something must be wrong.

Don't blame the cable company just yet. Plug in a wire to your network and see what happens. If you have no problems when plugged in, then it's a problem with the wireless.

It could be a weak signal, maybe you have a good signal in one part of the house and not another. Maybe someone is using a microwave in the house next door, or even a bad wireless card.

Whatever it is, you need to remove the wireless from the equation to troubleshoot it.
