I have a few 8530p's that are "For SI Build" - it says that on the service tag. I think they are used by OEMs for system integration work, ie. testing graphics cards and other add on cards before full production begins.

I want to update the BIOS in them, but the normal HPQFlash method doesn't work. It complains something about the flash size being wrong.
Is there another method I can try? My current bios is version B.04, which isn't listed in the revision history of the latest F.0C production version.

The reason I want to update the bios is to try and get the onboard LAN working. XP doesn't install the drivers by default, it shows as "? Ethernet Device" and when I manually install the "correct" Intel 82567LM drivers I get a code 10 - this device cannot start. It could just be that the LAN doesn't work, or it has a different unidentified intel LAN chip (it says Intel when it tries to LAN boot with PXE).

Any suggestions as to how I can try and get the onboard LAN working?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
