I just got myself a dv5296ea but I don't really wanted to keep the bloated HP base install, to my suprise they dont provide a windows cd & drivers relaying totaly on their "smart recovery" app.

I've already created DVD-DL backup, and downloaded the drivers from HP site, now I would like to know if the DVD-DL backup i've made usable to do a factory install if in the future I want to format and have the standart install there.

    Help is appreciatted

P.S. - I have no intentions of deleting the factory/backup partition on the laptop (got enough space as it is now)

Make sure you backup the SWSETUP folder under: C drive>SWSETUP
