I just got myself a dv5296ea but I don't really wanted to keep the bloated HP base install, to my suprise they dont provide a windows cd & drivers relaying totaly on their "smart recovery" app.
I've already created DVD-DL backup, and downloaded the drivers from HP site, now I would like to know if the DVD-DL backup i've made usable to do a factory install if in the future I want to format and have the standart install there.
Help is appreciatted
P.S. - I have no intentions of deleting the factory/backup partition on the laptop (got enough space as it is now)

Make sure you backup the SWSETUP folder under: C drive>SWSETUP

I guess i'm ready to make a clean install (will have lots of drivers and such to install after i'm done tho)
BTW whats the name given to the Hardware profiles (Office, Battery saving mode,etc..) app?
Format the dv5296ea
