    Freaking Widcomm is driving me mad!!!

    Well, Widcomm doesn't "typically" let you just download their software. You need a license, which comes with most BT adapters. You are mostly left at the mercy of hardware vendors to get Widcomm software updates.
    Even if you found a driver update from google or something chances are the license data wouldn't correspond with your BT adapter.

    However, if you go to HP's website you can grab the Vista Widcomm BT driver (version 6.0.1.3100) which should also support XP, according to the .ini. And since it has the license file for your BT adapter it will actually let you install it.
