I'm having problems getting my free skin from skinit.
It won't recognize my serial number. I'm entering the exact serial number on the back of the laptop. It's a dv2700t btw.

    I don't understand the problem.

i've read of people using other serial numbers to get themselves free skinits at the expense of someone else's laptop. someone probably used your serial number to get themselves a skin in your place...sorry mate

Take a screenshot of the HP order page that says you can get a free skinit just so you'll have it before they change the page.

Call the skinit customer service and tell them what's happening:

You can contact Skinit Customer Service via e-mail at [email protected].
You can contact Skinit Customer Service Toll Free at 1-866-380-5988.

You're owed a free skin so you should definitely get it!

    did you get this message?

We are sorry, the pin you entered is either invalid or it has already been redeemed. Please try again.

if you did someone already used your serial number. massive abuse on the fault.

LOL! I fixed mine. I was putting in the wrong number. Check all your numbers AND letters exactly. Use caps and see if that works. Good luck.

Didn't have to. If you click on the drop down menu for the model choices go down a little to "Spring Notebook Models", near the bottom of the list is dv9700t.

    No...

When you place your order. The 9700t is not an option for the HP laptops

Aren't they all the same size if they're the same series? I am not sure but I think the dv6000 series will work for yours.

Missing the point!! I have my pin for my free skin, but when I pick a skin and the try to order it asks what system I have and the 9700 series is not in the list!

    Ok like I said...
I have been able to get a pin code...
it is when you select your device!
The 9700 is not included! I can assume that is is the same specs as the ones that are listed but that was my original question!!!!!!

PS Snip it is the best thing Microsoft has ever come up with!!

The 9700 is the same as the 9500 physically- it's just an internals refresh...go with the 9000/9500 choice.
