Pretty cool, worked fine for me and I ordered my laptop almost 3 months ago, and it was still free! I got the Pirates of the Caribbean Skull and Crossbones skin (no cost/no shipping so its completely free). Thanks for posting the link (oh and for those paranoid like me I double checked his link against the hp site before I tried it so its legit, heh sorry for doubting ya huzier but ya cant be too careful these days lol).

Interesting, they list spring models on the drop down list. Has there been any info on the x700 series? I'm guessing they'll have new processors but wondering if any other updates are planned.

Worked for me. For those who can't find their exact model, you could try just finding an approximate match for your screen size/model...you could probably trim it appropriately to make it fit. At worst you spent $0 and about 10 seconds.

 

I think it worked for me, but i'm in Chile so... how knows

Hey all, bf has a dv6500t, I wanted to order a skin for him, but the serial number on my order receipt is coming up as invalid. where would i find the serial number on his laptop? we just got it in last week.

 

Its on the bottom of the laptop, there will be a sticker with all that info on it.

Got mine last week! The delivery guy set it on my front porch. Didn't even ring the doorbell.

Just the skin and instructions in the tube. No receipt or anything.

I hate it when UPS does that and why I went with usps.
Twice this year, I've had packages stolen off my porch. You get these crooks who follow the UPS trucks and when they see the UPS guy knock and nobody answers, they leave package on doorstep, drive off, wham, crook runs in and get's it knowing nobody is home. A neighbor saw it happen but was dumb enough NOT to get the license #

So... beware of CROOKS!

 

I am up here in Canada and just got a dv9644ca non-cto and it was also free. Even shipping which amazed me. Though i paid $1000 for it so they better give me something free. Hope it arrives soon.

i don't think they gave me the choice of what type of shipping. It says on my order that it is USPS Priority so as long as they ship to Canada I am happy. I got to wait till Christmas anyways to open up the box on my notebook.

 

will they ship it in Asia without charging for any shipping fee?

 

remember custom ones are also free. i edited an image i found and had them make that for me. still waiting on it though figured it might be here today but no luck. tomorrow maybe

wow! thats sick!!! i really wanted the carbon fiber one also but i was afraid that it was a light carbon fiber. because you know how theres tons of shading of carbon fibers? well the image skinit had on their website was a light carbon fiber and not dark enough. i hate to have a light colored skin on a dark dv6500t surface. yuck. if only the carbon fiber is dark enoughm id get it!!!

nice. except that when i customly made mine it wasnt pixelated either. when it came in, i was disappointed that it was pixelated. let us know how it goes!

 

i too thought of getting custom one but always doubted that i might turn out pixelated so am going for darker mtv special skin now

Phone cam def not workin with me when it comes to the corners. Im trying to find the digi cam when i do ill post better corner pics.

But yea corners arent that great. Did the best I could and it came out acceptable..def no perfect

I just got the skin that I ordered. I did a custom print of a desktop background and it looks excellent on my dv6500. Comparing the digital and printed version, a little bit of color depth is lost in the print, but it isn't pixelated at all.

The skin isn't fitted for the corners well though, so I had to cut it a bit so that the print didn't have folds in it at the rounded edges. Other than that, though it was relatively easy to put on and I'm very happy with it.

i guess the pixelation is hit and miss. good it's not a problem for everybody i guess. still dunno when mine is coming. hopefully tomorrow but who knows. i'll post up pics of mine once i get it on there too.
depending on the material it's made out of, taking a hair dryer to the sticker before you try to apply it may help stretch it to the corners.

I got my free skin today via USPS. I am at work so no pic's yet but I'll try and get one done this week. I don't see any defects in the pixels, in fact it looks very cool but I'm still trying to flatten it before I try to apply it. I did notice that the 2nd skin I ordered seemed to fail since I haven't seen any confirmation of the order yet. I had a friend that wanted the same laptop I have so I ordered it for him as a x-mas present for his wife and he then reimbursed me. I wrote down the pin code so I guess I'll try and re-order it using his name/address and we'll see if it goes through then. Right now the skinnit site seems to be broken and all you get is 'technical difficulties please try later' message....so I guess I'll have to try later.

i'm a little dissapointed with it too. it isn't too pixelated, only a little bit. you have to look somewhat closely to tell. it doesn't fit though, it's not big enough. just looks like a sticker instead of a cover. on the other hand, no fitment issues that way and it was really easy to put on. here's a pic

Thats an ill design, what model lappy do you have? Thats wierd that it fits like that and the white borders too. Did u stretch it out when u were customizing the skin?
