At work right now so I can't try, but do you think if I called up the HP sales reps and asked for the free XBox deal on a dv4t, I could get it? The promotion currently applies to specific laptops over $700, and I could add upgrades to hit that mark. Technically the deal doesn't currently apply to the dv4 series (only the dm4 series), but do you think they'd hook me up?
If so, that would be the most amazing thing ever.

The rules for the deal were set by Microsoft so I doubt HP will do any negotiating on this. I'm sure the coupon code that gets applied to get the free Xbox won't work if the model isn't correct (You actually pay for the Xbox and then they take $199 off the cost of the laptop). There are so many PCs/laptops that qualify just choose one you can afford. Just think, you can just sell the Xbox for around $150-$200 so that just brings down the cost of your laptop in the end.

Not for me - it's for a friend who wants a backlit keyboard (and can't go up to the Envy 14).
Free Xbox with ($700+) dv4t - can I negotiate it?
