I tried a few days ago with a $200 off coupon and it didn't work.

I'm going to try in about two minutes with the $375 off coupon I will tell you the results. I'm guessing they will say no but it is worth a try.

If you read the fine print in the xbox deal it says not combinable with other coupons

Don't get the quad then. What do you need quad core processing for anyway?
You can save a lot of money by purchasing something that realistically fits your needs.

I went with the base specs and after the coupon and tax was added my grand total came to $847.06

Do you guys think that is a good deal for a dv6t quad edtion with base specs plus the free upgrades. I didn't get the xbox so I am thinking about calling up and canceling my order unless they will also include the xbox.

1.) Good deal for what you're getting.

    2.) Upgrade your HDD rpm.

That's what I'd do. Having a faster HDD will not improve your processing speed exponentially, though it will be relatively quicker in loading your data.

You could get into the argument of latency, density, etc. but as a casual user go with the 7200.

Filling out the WNSIB form would help in the situation. However, if you were fond of the form factor and configuration of the dv6t quad; I don't see an issue with purchasing it.

The reason I suggested looking at something else was the fact that you don't seem too sure on your financial circumstances. Also: In your case you won't be needing a quad core processor.

    P.S.
I use my notebook for school, programming, some casual gaming, CAD programs, and Hulu streaming. Just an example of what you do / do not need for your particular needs.

I want to get the dv6tQE. Should I get it now with that coupon or wait for a better one? Also what's the deal with the xbox?

It's a pretty darn good deal with that coupon.

You get a free Xbox360 if you buy a "qualifying" $699+ PC with Windows7 from certain vendors (includes Microsoft, HPDirect, Dell, and Amazon, as far as I know). Unfortunately the deal cannot be combined with any coupons. Occasionally people have success stories about calling and being able to combine these kind of deals, but browsing around, it appears people have tried and repeatedly failed at combining a coupon with the xbox deal. I'm calling tomorrow and threatening to cancel my purchase and remove my HP loyalty, I'll see how it goes.
