I have an HP dv9723cl (AMD Turion X2 - 2gHz - 250GB HDD - 3GB RAM - Windows Vista Home Premium). I have started getting an error when I turn it on. It appears to be loading Windows but freezes and after a bit says "error XXXXXXXX (I didn't write it down so I'm not sure of the exact number) boot device could not be found". If I power down the PC (have to pull the battery as the Power button does nothing) and restart, it asks if I want to go through the Diagnostic Startup and then boots right up. Any ideas on the issue? It has happened twice in the last couple of days. I'm just trying to figure out if something is about to blow up/burn out/etc. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Try googling for the error code you are getting. More than likely it's a documented fault/error and you can find what the resolution(s) may be.

    Google is your friend.
