Hi, These are the steps which I followed to make my dv6000t clean....This icludes to creation of your own xp cd alone without having any bloatware which you have paid for follow these :

Create a bootable Windows XP Pro (WXPP) CD with service pack 1a or 2 (SP1a or SP2) :

What we are doing here is just reinstallation for the copy of WXPP that you have paid for when you bought your computer.
1- You have a folder called i386 on your HDD or a recovery CD from where you can extract that folder.

2- You have the WXPP product key for your computer. Most manufacturers place a sticker on the back of the machine with this number.

If you do not meet these two requirements, stop here and look somewhere else.

    Step 1:

Backup the important folders and files.

Since we are going to format the entire HDD, we need to backup the folders and files that will allow us to repeat the whole procedure over again in case something went wrong.

Backup the following folders to a CD, DVD, or any other reliable storage media:

1- i386 folder. Usually it exists under this path C:\i386.

    2- SWSETUP folder. C:\SWSETUP.

3- If you don't have recovery CD's with you. Pls take back-up of the recovery
PARTTION which comes with all new dv6000t.

4- Any other personal files you need to back up.

    Step : 2

follow the steps from step2 to step9 from this link

    http://www.4saad.com/WhatsNew/Fresh_XP_Install/Step2.htm

After finishing 8th step in above link, you are ready with your bootable XP CD.

Just have the key from 9th step and note it down we need this to try activation later.

    step:3

This is very important step in whole process

Boot machine and enter the BIOS (hit F10) immediately. Go to the System Configuration page and set "SATA Native Support" to Disable
Don't forget to save after disable, if this not happend when you boot with ur XP cd you will find message like no Hard disc found.

Now Boot to the Windows XP CD which created in above step, and enter Windows setup.

Once the initialization process completes, you will see "Welcome to Setup" screen with three options. For clean install, select the first option by pressing ENTER

Read the licensing agreement and then press F8.

The setup will detect your existing OS on partition C and ask you whether you want to repair it or just install a fresh copy of WXPP. To select the latter, press ESC.

Now use the up and down arrow keys to select the partition in which you wish to install WXPP. Select partition C and press ENTER.

Don't do anything to the partition which defined for the quickplay its about 1024 or more and very small partition
(In my case I did the partition of main disc after I completed my all software installations by using parttionmagic)

Since you selected a partition that already has an OS on it, you will be prompted to confirm your selection. Press C.

The next screen is asking for the type of disk formatting to be used. Ideally, NTFS files system is the best for WXPP.
As for which to choose Quick or Regular format, it is totally your call.

you will be asked for the last time to confirm formatting partition C. Confirm it.
Now just follow the simple on-screen instructions and watch WXPP as it is being installed on your computer.

Enter the registration key as which you have on the Windows XP sticker under your laptop.

After completion of this it will reboot and follow to next step carefully.

    Step : 4

Copy SwSetup folder from External USB drive to local c: drive

nstall Intel Chipset Driver (Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility 7.2.2.1006). Go to SwSetup\Chipset and run setup.exe. (Ignore the Found New Hardware notices) Reboot.

After reboot, click Start, click "Run" then type "devmgmt.msc" (shortcut to the device manager)
    - Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" and right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and choose "Update Driver". If prompted to connect to Windows Update, always say no. Choose "Install from a list or specified location".
    - Choose "Don't search, I will choose the driver"
    - Click "Have Disk", and browse to SwSetup\HDD, and click OK. Choose "Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller", and click "Yes" to any update driver warnings you get.
    - Reboot

Hit F10 to the BIOS, and enable Native SATA Support. Save & exit. After entering Windows, it requests a Reboot. Do so.
    - you should see the following devices under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers:
    - Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 27DF
    - Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller
    - Primary IDE Channel

Install Video Driver (NVIDIA Windows XP Display Driver) - Goto SwSetup\Video and run Setup.exe
    - should see NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 in the Display Adapters after reboot

Install Audio Driver (Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio) - Goto SwSetup\1UAA\Disk1 and run setup.exe. Reboot now.
    - after reboot, a Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High Definition Audio - Conexant Waikiki with a Question mark is shown in Sound, Video, and game controllers
    - Run the SwSetup\Audio\Setup.exe to "UPGRADE" Conexant High Definition Audio (this will resolve the above Audio issue

Install Modem Drive (HDAUDION Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP), Goto SwSetup\Modem and run Setup.exe

Instal Network Adapter Driver (Intel Pro Network Adapter), Goto SwSetup\Network\ right click on the e100b325.inf file and run Installl
    - it didn't do anything!!
    - Right click on Ethernet Controller in Other Devices, and do install from SwSetup\Network\, this installs the Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection

Install BlueTooth (HP INtegrated Module with Bluetooth wireless Technology 4.0.1.3500), Goto SwSetup\BTOOTH and run setup.exe

Install Touchpad software (Synaptics Pointing Device Driver Insallation). The setup file is in SwSetup\Touchpad.

Install Wireless Lan (Broadcom 802.11 Wireless LAN Adapter) from \SwSetup\WLAN\SETUP.exe
    - Run iProDifX.exe from \SwSetup\WLAN2\ (Intel Pro Wireless Device Installation), this will install the Intel PRo/WIreless 3945ABG Network Connection
    - Run Setup.exe from \SwSetup\WLASST\Disk1 (HP Wireless Assistant)

Install Chipset Drivers (Intel CHipset Software Installation Utility 7.2.2.1006)
    - I don't feel like it has done anything

Install the QuickPlay software (HP QuickPlay 2.3) from SwSetup\QPW. This will also give you the MPEG2 codec you need to play DVDs and use the TV tuner.

Install the QuickLaunch buttons from SwSetup\QLB\Disk1\Setup.exe.
    - After this step, it asks for a reboot
    - This step resolved an Unknown device in the Other Devices

Install Direct Play part of QuickPlay (HP QuickPlay Direct 2.3) from Swsetup\HPQPDP\setup.exe

Install Media Card Reader Driver (Ricoh R5C832/843 Flash Media Driver Ver.1.01.10) from \SwSetup\MISC2\setup.exe
    - this requires a reboot after setup
    - this resolves the 3 "Base System Device" question marks
    - Base System Device (Location=PCI bus 3 device 9 function 3)
    - Base System Device (Location=PCI bus 3 device 9 function 2)
    - Base System Device (Location=PCI bus 3 device 9 function 4)

NOTES: Both the microphone and the camera installed themselves with no additional drivers

If you still seeing any '?' under unknown devices in Device manager rite click and select reinstall driver and then click on have disc
and select recommend search will automatically find from your C:\SWSETUP if it is on cd or external device pls point to this.

You can also install internet suite from c:\swsetup

    Step 5 :

After reboot you will get the icon in tray for windows activation just select activate online by connecting to internet and it will be success
Please don't forget it will success only if you give the registration key as which you have on sticker under your laptop when upon winXP load

    Step 6 :

Now this is the partition time....

Use Partition magic or anyother software and it will show you 3 partitions

    c: with big partition
d: this is the recovery set partition which comes through HP
and one small partition which use for quickplay --- important don't touch this and it will show you as unallocated space

Resize the c: I did for myself as 40000 MB
Create another partition with rest of space as primary and formatted as FAT32(YOU CAN ALSO DO IT AS NTFS)
now select the recovery partition and format it in FAT32(YOU CAN SELECT YOUR TYPE OF PARTITION I JUST GAVE AN EXAMPLE IN MY CASE)

NOW YOU ARE SET WITH CLEAN INSTALLATION ON dv6000t

me first, THANKS BRO! I'm going to do this as soon as I'm done with **** finals. I deleted my recovery partition. And now my quickplay won't work. (in OS it works, but I'm talking about booting to quickplay instead of windows) Thanks again.

you dont have to download Service Pack 2, just copy the file
"win51ip" and rename that copy to "win51ip.SP2" so that you have
    "win51ip" and "win51ip.SP2" - saves a little downloading
