I have a dv9608nr currently, it has the broadcam 802.11 b/g wifi card. I have the opportunity to purchase the Intel 4965AGN. Does anyone know if this card will work with my laptop. Would hate to purchase the card and not have it work. Any assistance would be appreciated. thank you very much for you assistance.

The Computer is an amd based with a turion tl-58, 2gb memory.

Not possible, unless you hack the BIOS. HP has a whitelist in their BIOS which means only cards HP certifies will work. Any other card even of the same brand will result in the system displaying an error message and wont boot until you remove the card.

There are ways to get around this and would require you to edit the BIOS and reflash the system.

This is true for the older BIOS version, they added support for additional wifi cards in later versions... And also removed that pointless boot blocker...

How ever that does not exactly mean it will work, it means your computer can boot up with the card in the slot. You can try and talk to hp and ask them about support, and/or google it to see if anyone has tried this yet.
