    Is there any known history with the Zx5000 series for the front volume buttons to cease working? it just happened today, and i cant get them to work hmm.

    the weired thing is they dont work at all, even the mute button has stopped.

    Run HP's software setup to restore the functionality. Otherwise, the buttons are broken.

    Maybe try reinstalling only the sound drivers???

    i dont think the sound drivers are the problem, it could be the HP software but i dont know.
