Hi everyone, I am about to place an order of the HP Spectre x360 (Core i5-6200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) today. However I'm still really torn apart between the FHD and QHD. I have been looking around for information about the comparison between Full HD or QHD on the Spectre x360, but there isn't much information available. Unfortunately it is also not possible for me to have a side-by-side comparison between these two.

    1. Is the FHD much brighter than the QHD? I read that the QHD brightness is way too low because HP goes for a lower quality screen for the QHD model.
    2. Is there a big difference in terms of battery life between FHD and QHD, with other things being equal?

If you have any experience or opinion in these, please chime in. Thanks a lot!

    1. As you stated, it's almost impossible to make a side-by-side comparison.
I used a Full HD fir in store testing in the store. I didn't notice any significant brightness difference when I got my Quad HD home. Others on this forum have noted the Full HD is brighter. I have no complaints.

    2. Battery life inputs are all over the map. I have seen them from just over 4 hours to 10 hours.
The only test I made started with 81% battery. 11 hours later the battery was 21%. Light use.
I would guess the average is 7 hours for either FHD or QHD.

Hopefully others will post their experiences for you to make a more informed.decision.

If I could do things over, I would have gone FHD. The scaling issues at 1440p suck.

I just got one of these today, a FHD version. I find that you really have to push it to the last notch to make it too bright, so if the QHD is darker then it really must be pretty dark.

Its not that dark. Full brightness is uncomfortable to my eyes on QHD.

I went FULL HD for four reasons: max brightness, scaling issues on QHD, battery life, and color.

These reasons were mentioned in several Spectre reviews.

With FHD, I get 19 hours of battery life on idle, airplane mode, and min brightness and 7 - 9 hours browsing.
