I wanted to change the brightness on my v3000 but the function keys ( f1, f2 etc) are working ramdonly, ex: f8..is designed to increase brightness...when I press it it increases the media player volume, and I dont see it increases the brightness...and that happens with the other keys..they dont do what thay are supposed to do, they do something else..

I wanted to add to this post in stating a similar problem im having.

My fn keys are working fine, but when i first bought the notebook, i would change the volume via these keys and a volume bar would show up on the bottom of my screen displaying the volume amount.

Now it doesnt display any longer :( Im wondering if anybody might have a similar problem or might know what to do to allow for me to be able to see the volume bar when changiing the volume via fn keys.

O, btw, I don't have a fresh install of windows =(, and the only drivers I've changed since the initiall setup are my gefore card drivers, can't see how that might affect this problem seeing that they are seperate drivers and all.
