I have the quicklaunch buttons installed and I took the icon out of the taskbar so now im having a hard time finding it.. ive read a few posts on here of ppl having the same problem but never see it get resolved.. Thanks for any help.

Not sure about the brightness issue since I don't run NHC, but for help on the QLB icon, see my response to you in the "New DV6000Z..." thread.

For some reason when I click the link to your thread it takes me somewhere totally different then a post on this forum.

It's not a hyperlink. I was just letting you know in what thread the reply was posted. In any event:
You can find the Quick Launch Control Center in "Control Panel" under "HP Quick Launch Buttons". Create a shortcut to the desktop and copy it to the Task Bar from there. If for some reason you don't have a Control Panel entry, the name of the module is "Qlbconfg.cpl. You can find it in "Program Files", "Hewlett-Packard", "HP Quick Launch Buttons". -
I got it but only a couple function keys are working... sleep... www... the brightness isnt working like another program has taken control... anyone know what could be wrong? Is there a setting in the BIOS or in the Quick Launch menu I should change? I thought when you use these Fn keys it would display something on the screen. When I use the Fn for brightness on my g/fs Dell it brings up a bar and shows you how much you are moving it. Ive had two of these laptops and niether one did it. So annoying to not be able to adjust the brightness on battery power... I like it maxed on a/c like it already is.

I un-installed the quick launch keys and reinstalled them and no luck! Some of them work and others dont.. I dont get it??? Is there any updates for this stuff? Ive got the latest bios.

I got it... some sort of conflict with NHC... I went into bios and set defaults hoping it would help... as windows was booting up... I could dimm the screen and make it brighter.... when it got into windows... NHC threw me an error that had something to do with the nvidia driver and all of a sudden I cant adjust my brightness again. Least I know everything is ok with the hardware.. I just have to play around with some different drivers maybe.. or ditch NHC which has been a kewl program so far.
