Well, Dell started it first. Their website claims the new Latitudes have some percentage longer battery life...one of their banners claim 19% more life than HP.

I hate both HP and Dell for these stupid battery life claims. Guess what? I get 20 gagillion hours of battery life too if I turn off my computer and connect it to 19 extended life batteries!!!

Or better yet, I plug in my laptop, use it at full blast, and still get infinite battery life. Yay!

    LOL - i love cut-throat competition.

not to mention - the new studio models - the sides of the laptop where the ports are look like they're off of a 2001 computer. they look all clunky and... i duno, just not 'new' or futuristic lookin, IMO.

I learned in business class - if you have an advantage over your competitor (IE, your soda tastes better than theirs, your laptop battery lasts longer than theirs, your product is cheaper than theirs, etc etc etc) - then it is absolutely legal and OKAY to name other companies in your advertising campaigns. the only reason why most companies don't name other companies is because it would give them a bad PR with their customers. many would say "wow, look at hp, thinkin' they're so much better than a dell. they shouldn't diss dell like that" -- etc.

    so yeah, HP > DELL . l0l

The design of the HP is totally idiotic; 24 hours of battery life is supposed to increase your mobility. After tacking on 3 thick and heavy batteries, where does HP think customers are going to go with that thing?

Also, its not like its a major technical achievement, just like Apple's MacBook Air, you can make any laptop amazingly thin by taking all the functionality out of it, or you can make a laptop really "mobile" by adding a ****load of batteries. Stupid, HP, stupid.
