Just wondering if there's any idea how long the bubbly Espresso imprint design will continue? Still deciding whether to pull the trigger on a laptop now though I don't like the finish (DV5t imprint was the best!) or wait for the next refresh, whenever that may be....

Am I the only one that thinks it's a little too cute for a laptop? It's not like a drive a VW bug w/the daisy hubcaps or anything :p

I agree. It's too feminine. Hopefully that fad will end with the models that will come out this summer. Designs generally only last a year to year and a half. But with this massive recession, that might drag out two.

HDX Dragon and DV5T (especially the bronze version) had the nicest imprint finish.

Yeah, I don't think they'll top the DV5t imprint....timeless....I tried to snag one for awhile but now prices on DV7s are close to what people are asking for them.
I don't want to wait until the end of the year to see if a better looking DV6/7 version is coming-I guess I can always put a paper bag over it and just cutout the screen and keyboard parts :D

I'm typing this on my '05 zv6130us so anything recent would be a step up. But even mine looks better than espresso...

It makes no sense to me. HP at the very least should offer it as an extra expense option and let those of us who like a plain case or a symmetrical, fine imprint feel like we're carrying a real laptop. Which genius is coming up with these designs, anyway? Basic black works for me.
