Posted this in the Envy 17 Owners Lounge,

Since the Envy 17 3D can't do 120hz for 3D gaming via HDMI output, I tried using the IZ3D driver to do side by side mode. This method works, as long as your 3D TV supports side by side mode. Works perfectly with the Sony Bravia. Anyone else have a different set want to try, go for it. I'm also going to see if I can get this to work with my macbook air. Any notebook or computer should be able to do this, IZ3D is a lot cooler than I thought.

This is interesting. This will, I suppose, also work for movies?

in the other thread, johnnobts does not believe it will work for bluray movies, just games. Still, great job man, thanks.

wont work for 3d blu ray movies. guess you can maybe use it with iz3d for 2d videos but why would you? most 3d tvs have simulation 3d anyway, wouldn't be any different. i wasn't interested in outputting 3d video as much as i was 3d games, especially since i have a ps3 for 3d movies...

i may move my deskop into my living room now that i can do 3d with it via iz3d.
