I use Sony Vegas 10 to edit my videos, and as I was recording my voice my GPU crashed. The screen froze up then went black, then came back and at the bottom right it said it recovered from a crash. This was only when my Radeon 6770 was on, but when I switched it to the Intel graphics it seemed to be fine. It happened about 2 times when I was editing 6 minute video.

I've been using Sony Vegas 11 for quite a while. It sometimes does crash and at other times it seems to work fine.
No issues with the Intel graphics.

I am using HP drivers + 11.12 installed on top, maybe that is the reason.

Try disable PowerPlay and then set the core and memory clocks to other than 725/800.
