How often the 30+% coupons are released by HP? Anybody knows?

No clue. There could be a new one tonight or in a month. They were pretty generous throughout June/July. You should have ordered despite the issue. You could have waited your 21 days for a return

They've put them back-to back for a little while now. I'm sure there is one around the corner, seeing as this is back to school season...

That's for the quad editions only. And if you upgrade them to a certain point, the 30% coupon saves you more. This saves you more if you don't upgrade as much. (Like keep the glossy screen)

EDIT: Did the Math. If your base price goes over 1250, a 30% coupon will save you more. Below, and you save more with $375 coupon.

The $375 coupon isn't worth much since using it will remove the instant $250 or whatever savings HP currently put on the dv6tqe.

Well so would using a 30% coupons. 375 should be "close enough", unless you're planning to max out the system.

Just go with the instant $250, because $125 "isn't worth much." Only an some kind of idiot would want to save $125 more. ;)

If you have a .edu email account you can get the dv6-6190US for 1,049.99 along with a free xbox you can sell.. Laptop is pretty much top of the line except for base i7, 8 gig mem instead of 16, and blu ray reader instead of burner... It is also a quick ship laptop!

I think I will have to wait for 30+% off again. I looked at the quick ship but I want Blueray burner instead. Also, I want both 6 & 9 cells batteries. Buying them together is so much cheaper than buying a 9 cell separately in the future.

You hit the nail on the head. I got my dv6tse for $870 before tax. Configuring a dv6tqe with the only difference being a 2630qm instead of the 2410m results in something ridiculously more expensive. (And the 2630qm, unless I'm mistaken, is actually slower than the 2410m in applications not built for more than 2 cores.)

Hence, my original post should also added that this coupon is further useless because it's only for the quad edition.

I was considering re-ordering and returning my current laptop on my last day, possibly even upgrading specs if I saw a good deal, but there isn't any, so I'm going to have to keep this and send it in for service on some things HP shipped to me broken, as soon as I get a long enough vacation from school and work to do so.
