    Hey everyone!

I am having a problem with the gt 650m (2gb gddr5) in my hp dv6t-7000.
When i play games (BF3, Far Cry 3) my GPU usage is not at a constant 99%.
If i remember correctly, it used to be at 99% at all times in-game.
The gfx card is running at 970 clock and 2500 memory, so it has been overclocked for better fps on high/ultra.
Temps are reaching 85'C when gaming for more than 30 mins.
MSI afterburner says my clock and memory do NOT change, but my GPU usage decreases to 80-85% often.
I have no explenation for the matter. Is this GPU throttling?

If you still get good framerates I would not worry about the GPU usage since this would be a good thing.

Well, the framerates are good at 99% GPU usage, but at 80% the fps is 30 which isn't great...

This might sound like a stupid question but are the power settings set to high performance?

I just ran BF3 at MAX settings and high performance; just 25 fps at 99% usage.
The usage fluctuates a lot less; but still does occasionally. When running through the city the usage dipped twice to 90%.
Is something wrong with the cpu? Also, within 5 minutes gaming the temps got near 100 degrees celsius!

The TIM on the CPU might be dry and you have to apply new thermal paste, at 100 C the CPU most definitly throttles.
You should get the temps down to atleast 80C load.
