I dont really want to bother reading through the enormous lounge topic, but has anyone tried out gaming on the DM3Z with Radeon 4330?

I'm specifically wondering how CoD4/5 plays and if you think CoD: MW2 would be playable on it (assuming I decide to get it,will wait for reviews).

if it is playable your going to have to turn the settings down abit. 4330 graphics are alright/decent but the CPUs are not. Even with a Turion Neo its going to be slow. Frankly unless your talking about older games, the only dm3 that could be passable for gaming is the top of the line Intel one, even though the Nvidia graphics (G105M) are not quite as good, the SP9300 CPU is way better (2.26ghz 6mb L2 cache versus 1.6 ghz and 1MB L2 Cache for the Turion Neo) the Intel is going to PROBABLY run a little hotter and not give you the same battery life.

most games nowadays are more GPU limited. The DM3Z > DM3T for gaming, and feel free to prove it otherwise

feel free to prove this one yourself. as far as I know there are no benchmarks out on the high end (SP9300+g105m) DM3T yet, your probably right about a loaded dm3z (L625+4330) vs. a mid line dm3t (SU7300+g105m). Also, its going to depend on what game your talking about, weather its more dependent on the CPU (ie. Source Engine) or GPU, and in any case, your not going to get as much head room with the AMD CPU as you would with the SP9300. The SP9300 is a good deal faster than even the fastest Turion Neo, the L625 (iirc the AMDs HP is using in the dm3z are still built on 65nm). The GPU is becoming a lot more important in games than it used to but you still need a good CPU. What I would like to see is a dm3z and a dm3t (with the SP9300) in a head to head benchmarks comparison, same games, same settings, see which one is faster(highest frame rates), and then see which one can have the settings put the highest and remain playable (the 4330 could have the edge there but we'll see). Till that happens we won't really know. I wish picking a good gaming computer was just as easy as going with whatever has the better graphics chip. Even with all of this, the z model could just end up being the best bang for the buck.
