I need some suggestions regarding the DV2000z and DV6000z as well as the graphics cards which are available for these two units.

I'm not a gamer, but will be doing some light video editing with the system.

I really like the smaller size of the DV2000z, but it is only available with the go6150.

Is there that much of a difference between the two graphics cards??

Is there much of a difference between the the DV2000z and the DV6000z other than screen size and $$$$.

    I'm slightly technologically challenged

    Thanks,
    honu

It depends on what you'll be doing. For video editing the 6150 is perfectly adequate, but if you want to game or do anything else that's 3D-intensive you'll want something more.

Best Buy has a really nice dv6000z model on sale this week (dv6045nr). They had one set up side-by-side with a dv2000z series machine at my local store when I visited today, yours probably does too. That should give you a good idea of whether or not the larger size of the dv6000z series will bother you.

They would both be equally limited in what they could do. I understand you are not a gamer, but it is amazing how much faster you computer works with a higher end graphics card. Keep in mind you will not be able to upgrade you card after you purchase your notebook, and I find it is best to get the highest card you can get in the size laptop you want. If you must stick to HP I would recomend you look at the business laptops. If you are willing to look at different computers, I would look at the Compal HGL30 and ASUS A8JM. Both can be had for under $1500 well equiped, are 14.1" widescreen, have Geforce go 7600 cards, and come with a 3 year waranty.

The 7200 gets substantially higher 3dmark scores than the 6150 i believe the 7200 on 3dmark05 is around 1300 or so as the 6150 is around 800 or so. All depends what your doing if you dont do any 3d-work or play any newer games well things arent going to run faster and theres no need in spending the extra money, but if you plan on these then you will want a card and then depending what kind of games/3dwork will have different card needs
