I have been having a lot of trouble with the video on my DV2100T (which has an nVidia GeForce Go 7200). I would say that with any of the drivers that HP has provided or that have come from Windows Update are total crap. A good 40-60% of the time I try to boot into Vista the video either never comes up or the system crawls so slowly that it's impossible to do anything. Many times Vista reports that the driver has crashed and recovered.

It happens so often that I'm starting to wonder if this is a hardware rather than a software issue.

Does anyone else have this much of a problem with the 7200? Is the 7200 user replaceable/upgradable?

    Thanks!

I did have some minor stability issues with the stock drivers initially, but then switched to a modded version 7.15.11.6215 from laptopvideo2go and have no problems as yet.

The Go 7200 is not user serviceable/replaceable. It would require replacing the complete system board (of which no "upgrade" is available).

    Thanks for your response, R4000

I have used 158.18 from laptopvideo2go in the past and it was a bit more stable than the HP/MS released drivers. However, even these failed from time to time. I then tried newer ones, but those only seemed to make matters worse. I'll see about 162.15 that you are using.

I just can't believe that with as severe as this issue is with my DV2100T that there aren't others screaming about it. That's why I thought there might be a hardware problem. Of course, I've never had the problem with the factory installed XP/MCE so that's probably not it.

I noticed there are newer versions offered now as well.
