I am looking getting the zv6000 or the r4000 and was wondering if getting the 3 year extended warranty is worth the money? It adds a an addtional $180 to the price. I am trying to get a laptop for well under $1300. Ideally I would like to spend around $1000.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Keep in mind also that if you buy a 1-year, chances are that they will let you buy additional years before year 1 ends. You can check with HP to confirm this, but the answer I got was "yes".

Something I do.... Use an AMEX CC to purchase electronics. It adds on year to the warranty.

Well using the CC is out, besides I don't have an AMEX card (I just finished paying off all my open credit card bills and would like to keep them paid off :) ) I am going through the HP Shopping credit option so I get the 12 months no payments and then will pay it off next year with the tax return money.

    Thanks,
    Mark
