Installed Vista about a year ago via HP's upgrade. Now, a year later, I'm finially fed up enough with Vista to need to go back to XP (never should have upgraded, loved XP:MCE). There used to be a guide on these forums but I was unable to find one via search. Any advice is appreciated (I still have HP XP Restore Discs)

should work on my white 6125se (quickplay buttons never worked proper in vista anyways) -
1) Back up data
2) Format and install XP with restore discs
3) Uninstall bloatware, install programs
4) Optimize, defrag, cleanup
5) Restore data to it a partition dedicated to data ( < OS > < Data >) -
so wait I dont need to use the XP restore DVD's until I've reinstalled Windows XP?

Restore DVDs are Windows installation discs with manufacturer drivers included. It will revert your computer back to the way it was when you first took it out of the box.
